As a relatively recent Otolaryngology residency graduate, Dr. Karanfilov was trained in the era of computer-assisted endoscopic sinus surgery. Among the rising generation of Otolaryngologists, computer-assisted (or image-guided) sinus surgery has become a mainstay of treatment. While no technological advance can replace appropriate anatomical knowledge and sound operative technique, computer assistance adds an additional layer of safety and confidence when properly applied during an operation. Dr. Karanfilov estimates he has used image guidance technology in over 80% of the sinus operations he has performed throughout his career. With experience using all of the major systems on the market today, Dr. Karanfilov is well-versed in applying the latest state of the art technology to his operative technique in order to give his best to every patient.
